I am a 26-year-old trader from Columbus, Ohio. I am a Finance student at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business and I will be graduating in 2016. I have created this blog to share my trading idea’s for free with the world. I primarily trade options strategies but I also monitor the commodities markets and stock indices. My time frame is anywhere between a few days to a few weeks. I employ a combination of technical and fundamental analysis in my trading however most of what you see here will be charts and technical setups.
My Trading Style
I prefer to trade technical pattern setups with a greater focus on flags, pennants, and wedges. Strong pivot candles inside of one of these setups offer great entries however most of the time I will buy the break out or the retest. A strong trend and fundamentals offer greater probabilities for my trading style. I keep an eye on MACD, RSI, and Stochastic indicators however these are not used as a basis for a decision to enter a trade. As far as scanning goes I like to scan for stocks within 2-3% of 52 week or all time highs. I have found that when stocks are hitting new highs the probability of reaching yet another new high is pretty good. Also, when trading all time highs there is little if any resistance above so traders continue to push higher as price searches for an area to base. Overall my goal is to couple multiple factors together to find the best risk-to-reward trades for me. Everybody will have their own style of trading and will need to find what works for them. After all we are all in this for one reason… Profits! We all want to be profitable traders and the best way to do that is to find consistency and stick with it.
